Do you know anyone who's on drugs and you worry about ?
- yes
- I do not know anyone now who is on drugs. However I have and I did worry very much and then leaned there is only so much you can do for a person before you have to think about what its doing to you and walk away
- Yep, use to worry but had to let that go because if they are in denial of addiction and do not care to help themselves then it is useless to get stressed over it. Give them advice then move on
- Unfortunetly yes. I have tried to help this person several times and it just back fired. Xtremelywild1 is right. If they are not ready for help, their is not alot you can do. It takes a person to hit rock bottom for them to realize they have a problem. You do all you can do then you just have to let go. Take care!
- Yes! I have a very close relative that I have been enabling financially for years because of my love for him and his child. Very disheartening! But when the phone calls came about repos, and lights being cut off, or lack of Christmas presents, I did what I thought was best to help and being long distance, money was the only istance I can provide. I have learned to recognize and forgive myself and let go of my guilt, well I am still trying honestly. I had to let it go because that relative used my guilt and my love, to manipulate my willingness to help. I pray everyday for him. I figure when it ever gets "rock bottom", I will still be here for him, and he knows it. Blood is thicker than water, and family is family. I have much love, we are so very close, but there is nothing more that I can do. If there was, I would, and I have. does not make it any easier sitting back and witnessing someone you love lose themselves to a drug addiction. Good question! Be well, and pray, if you are dealing with this on a personal level
